Its been a while guys! Okay, earlier this month, I flew to Springfield Missouri, and rode down to Branson MO, to attend and be a part of the Missouri State Beekeepers Annual Conference, where I conducted an apitherapy workshop that I call "The medicine chest known as the beehive" It is certainly wonderful to see so many people every year becoming more interested in alternative modes of wellness and the popularity in Apitherapy on the rise. There was an impressive turn out, where attendees guided through all of the healing aspects of all honeybee produced and gathered substances which included raw honey, pollen, propolis, royal jelly, beeswax, and of course, the sting from live honeybees, their uses and application. Speaking of "The Sting" while program directors were setting up my program, I spied a baby grand piano, and decided to take advantage of its presence. A little live entertainment while things were being set up, and played the theme from "The Sting", The Entertainer. It not was only fun, and the people were thrilled, but it was a wonderful example of showing people something that I love to do, and at one time had lost the ability to do this because of what Lyme disease can do to anybody. Everybody gets involved..with questions, hands on, and partaking as a "stingee" should they like..And, about 30 different individuals tried out, an intentional sting..including one staff member of the hotel, and the Missouri State Honey Queen! A special thanks to those of you who attended, and the MO State Beekeepers Association for havaing me, and your wonderful hospitality..and especially to Pam for her diligent work in putting this event into the successful program it was.
This past July, a film crew arrived at my home here in Bradford Vermont, to do a shoot for the television program called "The Incurables" which will air later this year. Two days were spent filming, and interviewing clients including one black labrador! It was a great experience, including a reunion with the man that introduced me to apitherapy back in the late 80s. I look forward to seeing this air, and shall post when I hear of any updates on the program. Check local listings for "The Incurables",
